The Desmo
Times '98 ST2 Voltage Regulator Plate - $58
Back by popular demand this
plate mounts beneath the bottom triple tree and allow owners of '98 ST2
models to avoid the infamous fried regulator syndrome. By placing the
voltage regulator in the path of the airstream, electrical problems are
minimized. Simple installation. Requires rerouting voltage regulator wires,
but does NOT require any wire splicing. Simple 5 minute installation once
the top fairing is removed.
Installation Instructions:
- Remove old regulator plate from the headlight nacelle. Detach the
lead wires
- Remove the metal plate beneath the lower triple tree, noting the orientation
of the curve.
- Mount the regulator plate in the place of the removed curved plate
with the flat edge facing forward.
- Attach the regulator to the plate with the wires facing forward.
- Route the wires of the regulator to the new location. On the wire
attached to the left of the headlight, remove the bracket mount and
reroute that wire to reach the regulator.
Note 1: Actual plate is
anodized silver, not black, to match the color of the bottom triple tree.
Note 2: This plate is ONLY
designed for the '98 ST2. Subsequent years had an upgraded voltage regulator
and were relocated in the airflow beneath the headlight
