Black 1098 Dzus Fastener Conversion Kit - $93

This is not just a DIY Kit, this is a custom fit kit that has been specially selected for your Ducati 1098, 1198 or 848.
The Kit also includes 4 pages of step by step instructions with pictures and Illustrations to help you install the kit.
This kit replaces almost every fairing bolt on the bodywork and allows for quick removal of bodywork.

Kit Includes:

4 - 6mm D-Ring Dzus Panex Fasteners (Coating: Zinc Plate with Black Chromate finish)
17 - 6mm Allen Head Dzus Panex Fasteners (Coating: Zinc Plate Black with Chromate finish)
8 - 6mm Swell Nuts (4 Piece - 1/2 turn Wellnut system for blind holes) Swellnut kits is in SILVER only, these parts are hidden on inside pannels.

21 - DZUS Clip on retainers that mount to your bodywork replacing the OEM wellnuts and nut plates.

48 - Retaining Washers to both protect your paint and keep your Dzus bolts on your bodywork.
4 Pages of Step by Step installation instructions with photos, diagrams and tools required.

Note: This kit will require enlarging of some mounting point holes to fit the Dzus Fasteners.

FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Does this kit change all the bolts to black?
A2: NO!!! If you do not have a 1098S or other model with OEM black screws, you will need to change 4 screws to complete the kit. These parts are NOT INCLUDED in the DZUS Kit!!!! If you wish to convert the bike to all back fasteners, you will need to order 4 bolts from your ducati dealer.

The 4 bolts that can not be changed in the kit:

First the two bolts (one on each side) on the Side Faring Upper in the recessed hole. These bolts fit into a fixed mount that is bolted to the frame.
Ducati Part Number's for Black Screw and Washer: Special screw: P/N: 772.1.085.1B - Nylon washer: P/N: 852.1.218.1A

Double Check with your ducati dealer if the Part Numbers have changed!!!!
Second two bolts (one on each side) hold the lower side faring (The dark gray part) near the footpegs. Again this attaches to a fixed metal support attached to the frame. It is not possible to replace these with Dzus bolts.

Double Check with your ducati dealer if the Part Numbers have changed!!!!

Also, 8 hidden bolts in the inner fairing will be SILVER. These are not visible from the side of the motorcycle.

Q2: Does this kit require drilling the bodywork?
A2: A number of mounting points and bolt holes will need to be slightly enlarged to pass the DZUS bolt though your bodywork. The instructions indicate what items need to be enlarged and what size drill bit should be used.

Q3: Does the kit utilize d-ring or button-head dzus?
A3: The kit includes both styles. Where allowable, d-ring dzus are used because they are easier to remove. For recessed points, button-style dzus are required.

Q4: Does this kit come in Silver?
A1: The kit does come in silver, but I don't stock it. If interest exists, I will stock both black and silver.
