Above: There are two types of axle pinch bolts used on Ducatis. Above left is the Style A - standard hex-head bolt. Above right is the Style B - allen-head bolt. Look at your fork lowers to determine which type of bolt you have. |

Front Axle Pinch Bolts - $90/set of 4
The Stock axle pinch bolts on Ducatis are constructed of steel with a zinc chromate finish. After a few years of use, the chromate finish wears off leaving a mottled tarnish that gets worse over time. I've tried polishing the bolts, but they soon retarnish. The only two things you can do to correct the situation is to purchase a refinish kit to replate the bolt or replace them. I chose to replace mine. The ti-bolts look great, and the titanium will stand the test of time. Titanium isn't cheap, but you'll find that the prices of our titanium are reasonable compared to the competition. I do NOT sell stainless alternatives. Axle pinch bolts are special bolts and shouldn't be replaced with inexpensive stainless bolts due to the torque/load on the bolt. NOTE: You can thank the loss of value of the US Dollar for the high cost of these bolts.
