Respro
Foggy - $22
I've always
had a problem with standard motorcycle helmets. Most helmets are designed
to ventilate both the face area and the top of the head. The problem I've
had is that air often gets under my helmet and dries out my eyes. I've
used chin curtains to keep wind from getting underneath my helmet, but
that only exacerbates the problem of fogging in the winter. I've used
various sprays and chemicals to reduce fogging, but they have to be periodically
reapplied, and I usually forget when changing out face shields. In the
summer of 2008 I purchased and tested a Respro Foggy. The design reminded
me of the breath guard on my old HJC AC11 helmet, which was one of the
few breath guards I've found really works. The Respro is even better.
It is removeable via a velcro strip, is easy to install, fits like a glove
and eliminates the need for both chin curtains and anti-fog sprays/wipes.
The Respro Foggy fits snug against your nose and the neoprene mask forms
a seal around your nose and cheeks. The result is that the breath you
exhale doesn't effect the visor portion of your helmet, and there is no
need to crack open your visor when you stop. Designed ONLY for full face
helmets, the Foggy Respro fits every helmet I've tried, including: Arai,
HJC, Shoei, Bell, OGK, Foor, AGV, Shark, and Dainese. The Respro Foggy
is used by racers, and the product looks the part. The neoprene mask has
a carbon-look outer covering, and the entire mask is hand washable.
