Billet
Ride Height Adjuster- $69.95
Q&A:
1. Do I
use the stock fittings from my old adjuster?
Yes,
remove the stock fittings and insert them into the billet rod. First,
pack the rod with anti-seize paste so that the fittings don't seize like
they are prone to on the stock rod.
2. How do
I remove my old fittings?
The nut
on either the top or bottom fitting will have notches in it. That nut
turns towards the right to loosen it as you are looking at the rod. The
other nut opposite that one will turn to the left to loosen. Once the
nuts are loose, you can unthread the fittings, clean them, pack them with
anti-seize paste, thread them into the billet rod, and spray some dry
lubricant (silicon) to the fitting pivot.
3.
Is the billet adjuster the same length as the
original adjuster?
Yes, it
is identical in length to the Ducati adjuster used on MTS and 748-998
models.
4. Why don't
you sell other colors of adjusters?
The problem
with other color adjusters is that if you nick the center portion (where
a spanner fits for adjustment) it will show up. Because our adjuster is
clear anodized, nicks will not be as apparant. I've used colored adjusters
before and got tired of trying to hide the nicks.
5. Is the
billet ride height adjuster strong enough if the fittings are spaced further
apart when raising the rear ride height?
Yes, the
billet adjuster is plenty strong. I've been using them for years on my
Ducks. No cracks, no surprises.
6. What's
wrong with the stock ride height adjuster?
The stock
adjuster is hard to adjust unless it is first removed from the bike. Additionally,
the fittings are prone to seizing in the rod.
7. Suppose
I want to use the exact same rear ride height?
Simply measure
from end to end of your stock adjuster with the fittings in place before
disassembling them. Then assemble the billet adjuster and adjust the fittings
until the same length is achieved. See below pic.

a stock adjuster off a MTS1000. Most other models have a straight rod
without a center spanner portion
8. Will
the ride height adjuster fit all Ducatis with suspension control arms?
No, it won't.
Some Ducks like the ST series have longer control arms. Also, the ST3
and some Monsters have fixed length suspension control arms. If your stock
arm doesn't have adjustable fittings on either end, our billet rod won't
work. In this case, you'd have to change out your rod for one that includes
the adjustable zerk fittings. Other providers, such as Fast by Ferracci
have such rods.
